Hi I'm Sallee

I live in the warm, sunny southwest. I like to play tennis with friends and go to the lake with my grandkids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a child, I liked to imagine having an exotic background but mine was pretty typical. I was a tomboy that enjoyed climbing trees, tumbling, playing kick the can, snow skiing in the winter and water skiing in the summer. When not playing in the outdoors, I was usually curled up in a blanket reading a novel. Now, I am a wife of thirty plus years and a mother of five with four wonderful grandchildren. How the years pass quickly by! I still love the outdoors and playing tennis, boating with the family, hiking, and cheering for our sons at Friday night football games. I also still like to curl up in a blanket and read a good book. Although, I had wished for a more exotic life as a child, I could never have imagined the joy and pleasure that raising up a family to the Lord would bring to my life. Our third daughter was married this past June and celebrating this blessed occasion at the temple surrounded by dear family and friends brought home to me once again how grateful I am for my family and the influence of the gospel in our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and was baptized when I was eight years old. My testimony was strengthened during my teenage years when I had the opportunity to attend several girl's camp and youth conferences at BYU. When I was attending college, I began having some health problems which required surgery and resulted in the loss of hearing in my right ear. My parents were also going through a difficult time in their marriage and were subsequently divorced. My membership in the church helped to sustain me through this difficult time and I was able to graduate from college. I have been happily married for over thirty years. We have five wonderful children and four grandchildren. Our family life has been enriched through daily prayer, family and personal scripture study and attending the temple. I do know that the Savior loves me and that through his atonement he has prepared a way for me to return and live with him. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and I have been blessed by following the guidance and counsel of our modern day prophets.

How I live my faith

I am fortunate to serve in our church right now by working with the young women from the age of 12-18 years old in our area. I love serving with the young people and have enjoyed planning and organizing girl's camps and youth conferences that emphasize strengthening our youth both spiritually and socially. It is a pleasure to meet with the youth and provide wholesome entertainment such as dances, parties, carnivals, community service projects, musical productions, sports and so on to help them to grow closer to our Heavenly Father. It is an honor to serve with them. I wholeheartedly agree with our 13th Article of Faith that says: "We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous and in doing good to all men......If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things".
