Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a WA girl born and raised. I'm a volleyball player. I love bucket lists. I consistently laugh till it hurts- And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in Olympia, Washington my whole life. Being the youngest of four I have a love for families and all the happiness they bring to life. I played competitive volleyball and absolutely loved every second of it. Tennis, leadership, and choir also all made up my high school experience. I finished my freshman year at Brigham Young University and plan on studying elementary education with a minor in coaching and PE. I have zero regrets on choosing to attend BYU; my schooling and the relationships I was able to make there are irreplaceable. I love to play sports, sing, bake, and travel. I've been very blessed in my life to have had the opportunity to travel to all different areas of the world. Doing so has given me a whole new perspective on my life and how truly blessed I am. I love to go on adventures-which may be why I'm an avid believer in bucket lists.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have found the gospel of Jesus Christ to be true. I've grown up in the church but I have been sure to build my own testimony. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the church that holds the fullness of what Christ taught and what God intended us to know here on earth. I am a member because after feeling the spirit with me i can't imagine my life without it. It's that feeling that testifies to me that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, enabling us to have a modern day prophet on the earth today. The lasting happiness and peace I find from this knowledge is something I know I can only gain from feeling the love my Heavenly Father has for me and the Savior displays for me. I want more than anything to do all that I can to follow the example of Christ so that I can confidently live, knowing what I should be doing and where I'm ultimately headed. The gospel provides opportunities, hope, and most importantly the path to live with my Father in Heaven again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by trying to live up to the potential God has graciously given me. By following the words of the Prophet and the teachings of the scriptures I try to make decisions that when I look back at my life I can be happy and proud I made. I believe that the little things we do everyday are what makes us who we are, so i try to fill those times with activities that help me and others improve. I try to help others come to know the joy and happiness that comes from knowledge of Jesus Christ and the fullness of what he taught. By consistently doing the little things like reading our scriptures and praying daily, and attending church I find that I'm so much more aware of the countless blessings God has provided for me! I live my faith simply but fervently. Living in such a way that invites the spirit is essential to me because I know without it I'm lost! The more I dedicate myself to following the example of Jesus Christ the more I find myself genuinely wanting to do just that; to align my will with our Father in Heaven's as I try to be more like our Savior. I know I'm still young, but in my life to this point I've come to recognize that life is all about priorities. When we put our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ above all else, everything falls into place. Things may not be how we think it should be, but we can know that in the long run it is what will bring us the opportunities to grow and ultimately the most joy. I live my faith by deciding to enjoy and love every single day I'm granted.
