Hi I'm Judy

I'm a wife, a mom, and a grandmother. I love my family, tennis, kayaking, hiking, biking, art, and sailing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I have spent most of our life raising our children. Now that they are raised we bought a sailboat and took a month long vacation exploring many islands. We use it as our beach house and enjoy going to our marina often. We get exercise by paddling in our kayaks in many harbors. I love people and enjoy spending lots of time with family and friends always learning from them. My grandkids give me so much love and joy. We love doing simple things together like picking blackberries and playing on our trampoline. I love babysitting them every week. I went back to school 10 years ago and received a degree in Museum and Gallery Operations. With it I have worked in the art field at museums and galleries. I am a watercolor artist and enjoy painting landscapes especially. I need balance and so love to have lots of variety in my life. I probably never will be great at anything, but will enjoy many things. I presently work at a golf course part time I can ride my bike to. It's a fun retirement job! I believe in fun exercise so I golf, bike, hike, play tennis, do yoga, garden and swim; but not at the same time.

Why I am a Mormon

Years ago I truely wanted to know if the gospel was true. I researched many faiths and attended them. My spirit didn't connect with any of them. They had many truths, but didn't answer even a beginning of the my questions I had. I felt so at home with with the Book of Mormon which harmonized with the Bible and added so much more translation and understanding to me. I prayed to know if it was true and I knew with every word that it was. The spirit illuminated my soul and brought me so much peace and joy. It was as if no other faith mattered as I found all my answers with the Mormon church. I respect and appreciate other faiths for their truths, but there is so much more that others need to enjoy and have to guide them and their families to happiness. As I live my faith, serve and obey, I continually build on my faith and find all the answers I need to live now and forever. Knowledge is power and I am so grateful to have this peace. My greatest hope is to get rid of my faults and be more like Him, so I can live with Him eternally and receive all His blessings.

How I live my faith

I try to live the gospel by daily prayer and scriptures to inspire me how to become like Christ. We have had many joys and trials in our family and the gospel tells me what to do. I try to be an example of Christ by loving others, obeying the commandments and serving. I love how the church helps us become more like Christ by accepting callings to serve others. I have had many including teaching a early morning scripture class for youth before they go to school. For four years, I learned the scriptures well as you as the teacher usually learn the most. The youth were great examples to me! It helped me grow so much and I watched the youth develop testimonies. My greatest joy has been to see my efforts take hold and see others be faithful; especially my children. I have served the women in our church many times in leadership callings. Our motto is Charity Never Faileth. What a support system we have to learn from one another. They have taught me how to be a homemaker, mother wife and friend. I've had so many good examples of how to die and survive a childs passing and all lifes trials. My husband and I have been serving in our temple for many years once a week. It's like going to heaven. I love just visiting others and trying to be there for them one on one. I love making new friends and try to be a good neighbor and reach out to all people of other faiths. There are so many good people in the world. As I interact with them through the community and my hobbies and sports, I try to stand up for what I believe and share the gospel expecially by being a good example of it. I want others to have the knowledge I have so they can experience the love Heavenly Father has for us. Our prophet, Pres. Monson is such a great example of that. Everything I know and every blessing I have is because of the Lord.
