Hi I'm Carmen
I am a wife and mother. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am married, and stay home mother of 6 kids. There are many ambitions, opportunities, and hobbies I could be pursuing right now. None of them would be as fulfilling as being a Mother. I love being a Mom, it is both fulfilling and challenging. I learn from each of my kids and am a better person because of them. I enjoy seeing my kids play in concerts, or watching sports with them. I love reading children's books, learning and reading history, and running.
Why I am a Mormon
I was baptized at age 8 and although I didn't have a full understanding yet I remember feeling so clean. As a teenager I read the Book of Mormon on my own. I felt peace when I read it and felt closer to my Savior Jesus Christ as I read it. When I had decisions to make, or adversity in my life I prayed to my Heavenly Father for help, comfort, and understanding. The Lord spoke to me through the Book of Mormon and many prayers were answered as I read it. I knew the Book of Mormon was true, I knew my Savoir Jesus Christ through reading the Book of Mormon. As a teenager I had heard negative things about Joseph Smith that confused me. I read Joseph Smith's History wanting to know truth and praying for help. I felt so much peace when I read the words Joseph Smith wrote about praying and seeing God the Father and Jesus Christ. It didn't matter what anyone said after that, I knew for my self that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and through him the Book of Mormon was translated. As I have read and studied the Bible and the Book of Mormon together my understanding of them both has increased and I know they are from God. I continue to seek Heavenly Father's help as I raise my kids and teach them about God's plan for each of them. We all have a purpose here in life. We all are children of a loving Heavenly Father who is aware of us and our needs. I am especially grateful to know that after this life I can be with my family. Knowing that my husband and I will still be married and that we can be together brings me great comfort.
How I live my faith
I try to live like a true Christian should, or as Jesus would each day. However, I fall short and make mistakes. I know that I can keep working to overcome my weaknesses and continually change and become better with my Savior Jesus Christ's help. I attend church each week with my family to worship my Savior. I find personal strength each day as I study the scriptures and pray to my Father in Heaven. As a family we pray together daily to ask for help each day from our Father in Heaven and we ask how we can help and serve other's as well.
