Hi I'm Carmen

I am a wife and mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married, and stay home mother of 6 kids. There are many ambitions, opportunities, and hobbies I could be pursuing right now. None of them would be as fulfilling as being a Mother. I love being a Mom, it is both fulfilling and challenging. I learn from each of my kids and am a better person because of them. I enjoy seeing my kids play in concerts, or watching sports with them. I love reading children's books, learning and reading history, and running.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized at age 8 and although I didn't have a full understanding yet I remember feeling so clean. As a teenager I read the Book of Mormon on my own. I felt peace when I read it and felt closer to my Savior Jesus Christ as I read it. When I had decisions to make, or adversity in my life I prayed to my Heavenly Father for help, comfort, and understanding. The Lord spoke to me through the Book of Mormon and many prayers were answered as I read it. I knew the Book of Mormon was true, I knew my Savoir Jesus Christ through reading the Book of Mormon. As a teenager I had heard negative things about Joseph Smith that confused me. I read Joseph Smith's History wanting to know truth and praying for help. I felt so much peace when I read the words Joseph Smith wrote about praying and seeing God the Father and Jesus Christ. It didn't matter what anyone said after that, I knew for my self that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and through him the Book of Mormon was translated. As I have read and studied the Bible and the Book of Mormon together my understanding of them both has increased and I know they are from God. I continue to seek Heavenly Father's help as I raise my kids and teach them about God's plan for each of them. We all have a purpose here in life. We all are children of a loving Heavenly Father who is aware of us and our needs. I am especially grateful to know that after this life I can be with my family. Knowing that my husband and I will still be married and that we can be together brings me great comfort.

How I live my faith

I try to live like a true Christian should, or as Jesus would each day. However, I fall short and make mistakes. I know that I can keep working to overcome my weaknesses and continually change and become better with my Savior Jesus Christ's help. I attend church each week with my family to worship my Savior. I find personal strength each day as I study the scriptures and pray to my Father in Heaven. As a family we pray together daily to ask for help each day from our Father in Heaven and we ask how we can help and serve other's as well.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is similar to the Bible in that it is a collection of ancient prophets writings. The difference is that the prophets who wrote the Book of Mormon lived on the American Continent. The prophets in the Book of Mormon all testify of Jesus Christ and of His Atoning Sacrifice. In the Bible Jesus Christ says he has other sheep not of this fold (John 10:16). In the Book of Mormon we can read about Christ visiting these "other sheep" after His Ascension. Anyone can know for themselves if the Book of Mormon is true. At the end of the Book of Mormon, the prophet Mormon says "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would aask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost" (Mormon 10:4). All are invited to read it and pray to know for themselves. I am thankful for the Book of Mormon and know it is true. I have received answers to prayers through reading it, I have been comforted when reading it, and have grown closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ, by reading and studying it. I testify that the Book of Mormon is true and from God. Show more Show less
