Hi I'm Nick Bailey

I grew up in TX, CO, and GA. I am a homebuilder in Texas. I have been married since 2006 and we have 2 boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I have lived in Texas for almost 5 years and have had 2 childern in that time. I enjoy what I do for work; building custom homes. Our kids are young so life is always "exciting". Family is what means the most to me, although they have to remind me of that sometimes when work is busy :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in an LDS family and had no reason to doubt what was taught in my home. Seminary is offered to high school aged children in the church, mine was at 6am! Early morning seminary was the first time I had to make an effort and sacrifice to show my faith in what was being taught at home. Couple that with the fact that I was a 14 year old; I began to question. I made it a matter of personal study and sincerely asked my parents how they knew that the Church of Jesus Christ was true. My mother showed me a scripture in the last book of the Book of Mormon that encouraged the reader to ask God in faith if the book is true. She said she had done asked and could tell me that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that I could know as well if I asked God. I half-heartedly took my mothers advice, wanting something more concrete, and casually asked in a few prayers but the question still persisted. The disonance of living one way and not having a surety that it was true and correct grew louder. I finally reached a point where I really had to know and wanted to commit to something either way if God would answer what had become pleadings. He did answer and assured me with a still, calm, and intense peaceful feeling that He had called a prophet and brought to light another testament of Jesus Christ. That inital peaceful feeling was the first of many other witnesses I have recieved by asking my Heaveanly Father if things are true and correct for me. I know we are all His children and He wants to share true principles with us so we can be happy and return to live with Him.

How I live my faith

Faith is a directing force in everything I do. My faith in Christ is stregthened by reading the scriptures. My faith in Christ is also strengthend by serving in the Church. I have taught classes, lead community projects, and worked with the missionaries in the church. All are asked to participate and grow by serving in the Chruch. It is a wonderful way to come to know Christ by doing what he would do and give of your time and talents to help those who live around you.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?
