Hi I'm Bethany

I've lived in AZ my whole life. I'm a math teacher. I'm a piano teacher. I'm a mom. I'm a perfectionist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I earned a Bachelors degree in Education and taught mathematics at the high school level for two years before making the adjustment to a stay-at-home mom. I couldn't give up teaching entirely so I now teach piano lessons and tutor math on my schedule. I love spending the time with my beautiful daughters and watching them learn and become independent. Teaching my own children is incredibly rewarding. I enjoy doing yoga, working out, eating right (but always allowing for my sweet treats), and all the responsibilities that come with maintaining a home.

Why I am a Mormon

I know Heavenly Father loves ALL of His children and wants them to return to live with Him. He does not leave us without help. We came to earth to receive a body and become like Him. We are here to prove our faithfulness and to learn and progress towards our best selves. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, has made it possible for us to overcome our mistakes. He satisfies the demands of justice and provides mercy for us. If we live according to the commandments of God, and are not swayed in our determiniation by the distractions of the world, we will be welcomed with open arms back into God's presence again. The ordinances and covenants restored through the gospel in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints also allows us a way to live with our families after we die. Nothing means more to me than my family (my family here on earth as well as my spiritual family)! Having this knowledge of Heavenly Father's plan makes it impossible for me to ever deny the message found in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I pray and read scriptures daily to maintain a personal relationship with my Heavnely Father. I teach my children about the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ daily. I try to live the way Christ exemplified while he was on the earth. I am able to serve with the girls ages 8-11 each Sunday by teaching them in a classroom setting, as well as twice a month during the week where we plan activities and service projects. We work on developing our talents, serving others, and learning and living the gospel. I also visit with other ladies throughout the month to ensure their needs are taken care of and help strengthen them in their determiniation to keep God's commandments and strengthen their homes.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are strong, educated, and confident women. They are the greatest asset to raising the next generation. They know their role as a wife and mother and use their many talents to support their husbands, love their children and teach them, and serve others. They share their opinions and communicate with their husbands to maintain equality. Mormon women are respected and can often make the biggest impact when serving in the church. Show more Show less
