Hi I'm Beth

I'm a wife and a mother of 4 grown children, a grandmother of 7. I love to camp, hike, bike, and ride horses. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a convert to the church. I joined the church when I was in college, just two months before I got married to the wonderful man that introduced me to the church. I have been happily married for over 33 years now. I left college when I got married, but went back and finished my bachelors degree when my oldest child was in high school and the youngest was in third grade. I have a passion for the outdoors and the beauty of the world that Heavenly Father created. I am constantly in awe of His genius. I love animals and have cats, dogs, and horses. One of my greatest joys is sharing my love of science, nature, and animals with children, whether they are my own, my grandchildren, or the many youngsters that have been a part of my life. I enjoy canning and make my own salsa, spaghetti sauce, applesauce, and canned fruits from some of our own trees. I enjoy working in the yard and tending my flowerbeds.

Why I am a Mormon

I had been casually attending the church with my boyfriend (now my husband of 33 years), when one of my college roommates came home from watching a movie called "The Late Great Planet Earth". It was about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and the Apocalypse. I started really thinking about whether my Savior would know what I believed in if He were to come. I was comfortably seated on the fence, without committing to anything. I enjoyed going to church, but hadn't really studied any of the beliefs. I decided that He would not know, so I called the missionaries and asked if they would teach me about the church. I needed to know for myself whether I was supposed to join this church. For a while I didn't even tell my boyfriend that I was talking to the missionaries, because I didn't want to be doing it for anyone but myself. I studied and prayed and learned for about 9 months before I was baptized into the church. I continue to study and learn even now. I grow closer to my Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ as I do. I have never been sorry for my choice even though I was the only member in my family. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and I believe the Lord will know clearly where I stand today and have stood firmly for 33 years now.

How I live my faith

I think being an active member of my community is part of how I live my faith. I believe all people are children of my Heavenly Father, so I try to volunteer and serve others. I love delivering meals for the Meals on Wheels program, walking for the Relay for Life program, and doing service projects for our local parks.
