Hi I'm Athena

I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. I own my own business. I enjoy cooking, singing and gardening. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Arizona. I have 4 sisters and 5 brothers. At a young age I developed a love of sewing. After graduating from High School, I got my first job at a drapery workroom. I continued to work there while I got an Associate of Arts Degree. Shortly after graduating from college I got married. When our first child arrived I quit my job so I could stay at home to be a full-time mother. With my extra time I began making draperies, which developed into a full time business that continues today. The most important things in my life are my husband, my five beautiful children and my wonderful grandchildren. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a central part of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized a member of the church when I was eight years old. At that time I was relying on the faith of my parents. By living the gospel of Jesus Christ, I have gained a sure knowledge that it is true. I have read the Book of Mormon many times and continue to be awed and humbled at the simple truths that it teaches me. I no longer have to rely on my parents’ faith. I have a peace in my life that I know comes from living what I believe.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily by my actions and choices that I make. Each day I look for ways to serve others. When faced with difficult choices, I try to do what my Savior Jesus Christ would want me to do. I have had many chances to serve in the church. One of my favorite opportunities was to teach music and activities to children between the ages of 18 months and 3 years old. I have enjoyed teaching young women gospel principles. I love to sing praises to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I want to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ.
