Hi I'm Shelley Wilson

I'm a mother of 6, I'm a college graduate, I'm a volunteer at my children's school, I'm a jogger, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a stay-at-home mom for 18 years now and how felt so thankful for that opportunity. I plodded along a little at a time and graduated from BYU in August 2010. I am now applying for a Master's program in Occupational Therapy. Losing a child to SIDS and having an autistic child has given me compassion and understanding to help others in similar situations. I love volunteering in my children's classrooms and being involved in their lives. One of favorite things to do is to go running with my husband. I love being married to my best friend and sticking by each other when life gets hard. Being a wife and mother has helped me grow and learn in ways that I could not have grown on my own. I love my family!

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in a less active family was hard at times and now that I have a family of my own, I'm thankful to have the principles and standards of the gospel as a foundation. The gospel makes it easy to know what to teach my children about Jesus Christ. We have the scriptures, a prophet, handbooks, magazines, and teachers that are all working together in harmony with the teachings of Jesus Christ. I am amazed at the spiritual strength my children have in a world so full of wickedness. They know the standards and they are so willing to be obedient to them. I could not imagine my life as a wife and mother without the testimony I have of a living Heavenly Father who knows me and my family and has a plan for us. I know that Jesus Christ lives and died for me. This knowledge helps me have the strength to make it through the trials of life and teach my children. I love being a mormon!

How I live my faith

I am a webelo cub scout leader for the ten year olds in my ward. My partner and I have fun teaching them the necessary requirements in order to earn their Arrow of Light and Webelo badge. I have had many opportunities to serve and teach others in my church. Serving others has helped me learn to be more compassionate, less judgmental, humble, and faithful. I love the people I serve and am thankful for the sweet friendships I have made as I have been blessed to serve and help them. I am truly a better person because of the membership in this church. I have had to grow and stretch in ways that have not always been easy, but have come out a better person. I have a long ways to go, but if I can help ease the burdens of others a long life's path, then my life has even more meaning and purpose. I know that I can be the hands of the Lord on this earth, just one little act at a time.
