Hi I'm Lara Stowell

I am a wife and mother of 2. I have a love for dance and exercise, especially running. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Lara. My husband, Jon, and I have been married for almost 5 years. We have two beautiful children that we love more than anything. Our son is 3 and our daughter is 1. I have always been passionate about dance. I danced with a studio on and off throughout my adolescence. I was never very good at it, but I always have and always will enjoy watching others dance. I also enjoy exercise, especially running. I am currently training to run a half marathon in November 2011. I love a good book and am always looking for new home decor projects to make.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the church and always tried to do what my parents and church leaders told me. But I was encouraged to gain a testimony of my own, because my parents and leaders weren't going to be around forever and I needed to be able to stand firm on my own. I'm Mormon because I know that no matter what I do, I can always be accepted and loved as a child of God. Jesus Christ suffered on the cross for all of our sins so that we can repent and become clean again. I know that if I make a mistake, there is always a way back and that it's never too late to change. I know that being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints brings me blessings and happiness that I couldn't find anywhere else. I have hit rock bottom, and even then I knew this church was true. The Holy Ghost has testified this to me and it is undeniable.

How I live my faith

Without knowing someone for very long, they are usually able to tell that I am Mormon. I dress modestly and try to carry myself in a way that represents my beliefs. I refrain from using foul language, drinking, smoking, or any other harmful/offensive things. I have a calling in the church to work with young women that are in junior high. I attend all of my meetings and participate in activities associated with these girls, and I strive to be a good role model for them. It is my duty to be a good example and to help them through the trials they may experience during this important time in their lives. I also strive to be an example to my children and it is my responsibility to teach them the gospel and to live righteous lives so that they can one day return to heaven to live with our Heavenly Father.
