Hi I'm Ralph

I'm a firefighter and I'm Mormon.

About Me

I love being a husband and also being a father to our two boys. After 15 years as an insurance adjuster I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a firefighter. I have been lucky enough to have been employed full-time now as a firefighter/emt for the last two years and am working on becoming a fire and arson investigator for my department.

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to members of the Church by my wife who began going back to Church after we got married. I began to realize that the people in the Church, while not perfect, were some of the best people I had ever met and I really enjoyed being around people who sincerely attempted to live the things they taught. I read the Book of Mormon page by page. After discussing what I had read and the feelings I had with some friends who were members of the Church I decided to move forward with being becoming a member. I can't deny the feeling of peace I have in my life now which was not present before.

How I live my faith

Since I have joined the Church I have been called to many different positions. Currently, I am an Assistant Boy Scout leader in our ward scouting program. Also, I make every atttempt to live worthy to hold a temple recommend. Being a member of the Church has made me much more accepting of other peoples beliefs and practices. For instance, our two boys are the only Mormons who attend the local private Catholic school. I think this is a great opportunity not only for them to obtain a wonderful education, but a great way to have them grow up learning about and respecting what other people believe and hold sacred. It also affords us the opportunity to show them the things we have in common with other Christians.
