Hi I'm Scott

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 3 grown wonderful children, a husband to an incredibly talented wife for 31 years and have worked for the same company for over 30 years. I enjoy the musical theatre, sports, and the outdoors. I try to be a handyman about the house but I'm still quite the novice. I am conservative in my views and with my family budget; I drive old cars till they die and would prefer to do most things on my own versus hiring out.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a 5th generation member of the Church and have appreciated the sacrifices that my fore bearers made in the way of physical hardships and raising their posterity in the Church. Though blessed by these wonderful descendants of mine I, along with every member of the Church, had to find out if the Gospel of Jesus Christ was true for myself. I believe in constancy, consistency, and just downright order in life; I found that the Restoration of the True Gospel of Jesus Christ through the Prophet Joseph Smith, with all of its attending Priesthood Authority, meets these beliefs. Why would God love the people of the Bible times more than us today if what other Christians say about the end of Revelation and Prophets were true? He would not leave us alone to fight our battles alone, to bless us with Authority on High, to instruct us on how we can return to Him. The Book of Mormon is truly another Witness of His Love for us; it testifies and strengthens my testimony that Jesus Christ did live and lives today. His ministry was true and his teachings are simple yet powerful today. Christians of the world should rejoice and be humbled by the reality of two powerful records of Christ's life and ministry. We all need to embrace the Book of Mormon as a sacred record and a truly beautiful gift of God's consistent and constant love for us.

How I live my faith

I serve and have served in may capacities in the Church as we have no paid clergy. The fundamental principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ are centered around service toward our fellow men and women. It is through our service that we can build up the Kingdom of God on earth. During the course of my life I have served as a missionary abroad, worked with the youth and adults in teaching Gospel Principles. I worked as a Scoutmaster in the Cub and Boy Scout organizations. I have organized numerous service projects that have blessed lives with food, shelter, and the necessities of life. I believe that the only way I can show my love to my Heavenly Father for my rich blessings is to try to follow the example of his Son Jesus Christ in my life. I am not perfect and do not expect to be perfect in this life but I can strive to follow Jesus, the only perfect man who lived on this earth.
