Hi I'm Melissa

I'm a Mormon. I am a wife and mother. My greatest joys in life come from my family.

About Me

I am married to my high school sweetheart. Together we have 5 children; 3 with us and 2 waiting for us in heaven. When we began dating, we had no idea the trials we would endure together. Bringing children into our family has been an emotional roller coaster full of heartache and indescribable joys. I lost a baby at 37 weeks, 17 weeks and twins at 7 weeks in utero. Through other pregnancy difficulties, I couldn't have more children. This was devastating. Although there were many difficult days, my testimony was strengthened through it all. My testimony of eternal families deepened and became a source of hope and joy for brighter days. Through my experiences, I came to have a clear understanding that Heavenly Father is so very aware of each of His children. I have learned that we can find happiness even when our life doesn't turn out just how we hoped or planned.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know this is Christ's church on the earth. I know from personal experience that our lives are happier when living the commandments we have been given. I have prayed and received answers to my prayers. I know that Heavenly Father loves me and cares about the little things in my life. I know that Jesus suffered and atoned for my sins, and made it possible for me to live forever with my family after we die. Living the gospel brings me joy. It isn't always easy, but the blessings that come from following Jesus Christ are countless.

How I live my faith

I am an active member of my ward. Currently I am working with the youth in our ward. I teach lessons on Sundays as well as help out with Wednesday night activities. In the past I worked with the children in our ward. One purpose in serving in these capacities is to help the younger generations gain testimonies of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ despite a growing world of opposition to truth. I home school my children, so much of my time is spent raising my children. I do my best to teach my children secular and spiritual knowledge to help them become helpful, strong and capable citizens in the community and at church.
