Hi I'm Lydia

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Arizona, and have lived here since then. As a result, I love rain, clouds, cool breezes and swimming. Currently I’m going to school as an Electrical Engineer, and having a pretty good time of it. It’s stressful, but satisfying. In my free time, some of my favorite things to do are drawing and reading. I love to read sci-fi, especially Asimov. Sadly, this leads to great disappointment every time I realize that its already 2011 and I still don’t have a hover-board… or a spaceship… I try not to dwell on it. Other things I adore are the grand architecture of the buildings and castles in Italy, which are both ridiculously old and beautiful. My plan is to finish school, then spend a year abroad, soaking it all in.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, and feel like the luckiest person on earth. To me, being born in the U.S., to good parents, who have the gospel, is the best possible way to start life. Having the gospel gives me an understanding of why we’re here on earth, what our purpose is here and what happens after we die. I know personally that Jesus Christ atoned for all of us, so that we can repent and become more like Him. I don’t feel like I’ve had terrible challenges in life yet, but I know that when they come I will be more ready for them with the gospel than I would be without it.

How I live my faith

Mostly, I try to live the gospel by keeping the commandments, reading my scriptures, and praying. Sometimes, it’s hard. There is always homework that has to be done, or a test to get ready for… but I find that when I take the time to read or pray, I feel better almost immediately. Less stressed and more ready for whatever comes.
