Hi I'm Jacquie Valentine

I am a wife, a daughter, a sister, a teacher, and a wedding planner, in need of a really LONG nap, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Hi my name is Jacquie. I was born and raised in Gilbert, Arizona, I have also enjoyed living in Idaho, Ukraine, as well as Las Vegas and I am now back in Arizona again. I am a first grade teacher in Gilbert, Arizona and I love my job! I love being around five and six year old kids and seeing how much they love life and how much they trust everyone. I love the way a child's face looks when they have worked so hard to accomplish something difficult and they have accomplished it. I love being a part of their lives. I enjoy their funny stories, laughing and learning with them. I think that they are so cute when they present something that they love or care for to their classmates! I love kids! I also work as an wedding/event planner and director in my spare time (haha, if I have any). My husband and I recently got married and it is my turn to be the provider because he is going to school full time. I am currently working anywhere from 50-75+ hours a week to keep us going. So, I also work two week nights and Saturdays planning, meeting with and being with many happy couples on their happy wedding days. I see the love in their eyes and it makes me so happy when I am able to look at my amazing husband and remember how much I love him. I am lucky because he works with me on Saturdays! :) When I am at home I love to bake and keep my cookie jar full! The simple things make me happy. :)

Why I am a Mormon

My brother, sister and I were raised by amazing parents. They love us so much. They showed us in so many ways, we would travel across the United States together, we would make and eat cookies together, we would sit at the kitchen counter and talk for hours and hours, my parents love us. My parents also taught us of our Heavenly Father who lives in heaven and of the amount of love that He has for me. I am His Child. He loves ME! I can remember a time in my life where I had many questions and I did not feel love from anyone or anything and I sat at church and sang this hymn, which brought me peace; "He lives to silence all my fears; He lives to wipe away my tears; He lives to calm my troubled heart; He lives all blessings to impart. He lives to bless me with his love; He lives to plead for me above; He lives my hungry soul to feed; He lives to help in time of need. He lives, my kind, wise, heavenly friend; He lives and loves me to the end; He lives, and while he lives, I’ll sing; He lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King! He lives and grants me daily breath; He lives, and I shall conquer death; He lives my mansion to prepare; He lives to bring me safely there. He lives, all glory to his name! He lives, my savior, still the same; What joy this blest assurance gives: I know that my Redeemer lives!" Hearing this song brought me peace, because it was at that moment that I truly knew that God loves me. I felt it deep in my heart. He loves me so much that He sent his son Jesus Christ to atone for my sins and "wipe away my tears." This what keeps me going when days are difficult. I met an former Ukrainian priest and he said that there was a boy on the street that said to him, "I know that God loves you." Those simple words changed his life. They encouraged him to look for that love and understand what it means. They have changed my life. I know that God loves me. I know that God loves you.

How I live my faith

I am a very happy person, and I try to always keep a smile on my face. I love to be with my husband and hear him fill a room with laughter. I feel that I live my faith by trying to serve people and helping them to feel joy in their lives. My husband and I just recently moved and we are surrounded by little 18th month to 3 year old children in our Sunday School class each Sunday. We love serving these children! We are able to talk about God with them, and listen to their short, sweet and simple prayers. We hear their happy voices sing, play with play dough and bubbles, and eat snacks. It is amazing to watch children learn to have a relationship with God. I love life and I feel that the more friends and family you have in it the better!
