Hi I'm Mike

I am an Information Systems student and an employee of PayPal. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a convert. My wife and I converted in April of 2011. Neither of us grew up with the gospel in our lives which I know now to be quite unfortunate. I work for PayPal and go to school full-time for Information Systems. I now really enjoy having the church in my life and love being able to share blessings with my family. I also love teaching a Sunday school class of 11 year old children with my wife knowing that my kids are being taught the gospel by somebody just as dedicated as me a few rooms over.

Why I am a Mormon

I had never really considered joining any church until I attended the funeral of my wife's grandfather. He was a mormon and at his funeral the speaker referenced how important family was and it really tugged at our heart's. So we started researching because we had felt a glimpse of spirituality that we thought was just amazing. After about a month of researching the religion and being amazed at just how family oriented they were, we decided to talk to some missionaries. So right here on mormon.org, we put in a request to have some missionaries come and talk to us. We were blown away by their amazing spirituality. After learning more about the beliefs of the church we prayed on it and felt the spirit tell us that this was it. So we were baptized into the church. We now get to feel that glimpse of spirituality in full force everyday. It is an amazingly fulfilling thing and that is why I am a mormon!

How I live my faith

I live my faith in everything that I do. At work I do my best and try to encourage other to do the same. I teach a Sunday school class with my wife and constantly have prayer and scripture study with my family. I volunteer where I can to help out my brethren by mowing lawns for the wives of deployed soldiers and aiding people when the ask.

In whom should we have faith?

Mike
In order to come closer to Heavenly Father and receive all the blessings that He has for you, you must first develop faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Apostle Peter taught that “there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Faith in God is more than a theoretical belief in Him. To have faith in God is to trust Him, to have confidence in Him, and to be willing to act on your belief in Him. It is a principle of action and power. Show more Show less
