Hi I'm Karl

I love moutain biking, college football and rock music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in AZ with my wife and 4 children. We love the outdoors and going to the pool. I like running and mountain biking. I love college football and root for the Utah Utes and Arizona State Sun Devils. Thanks to my fandom those two teams have 3 undefeated seasons between them. Utah 2004 and 2008 and ASU 1996. These teams won every game I watched those years. I ran cross country and track in high school and college. I grew up an Army brat and spent over 10 years living in Germany. I had the opportunity to visit many different European countries. This experience gave me a different outlook on people of other cultures and traditions that I've carried with me to this day. I also had the great opportunity to serve a missionary in Japan for 2 years. I love the people of Japan, their language and culture.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church. My grandfather on my father's side was a convert but the rest of the family has been members since the 1800's. That being said I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints because I have I come to know of myself that it is Christ's Church on earth. I don't fully realize this until I was on my own in college and had to make my own choice about where I wanted my life to go. I'm so thankful for the gospel and the direction it gives me. I'm thankful for the Lord and how he blesses my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church every Sunday. I try to serve others and volunteer my time as the Cub Scout leader for our Pack. We teach our children to respect other people and treat them with love and kindness.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Karl
1) Because it's a commandent from ancient times. See Malachi in the old testament 2) The funds to run the Church have to come from somewhere 3) The blessing from paying tithing are more than worth the benefit. Sarcifice brings the blessings of heaven On top of all that I know that my tithing funds are used in an appropriate way by the Church to further the work of the Lord. These include missionary work, church buildings, temples, etc. Given that this church has a lay minstery I know that no one is tithing funds for anything other than intended. Show more Show less
