Hi I'm Paul

I grew up in a large Catholic family and now I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a brother to 6 siblings, 3 brothers & 3 sisters. I'm a father to 3, 1 daughter & 2 sons. I'm a husband to my lovely wife for over a quarter of a century now. I've been a Banker, an Electrical Engineer, & now I'm a Clinical Pharmacist. I like archery, bicycling, roller-skating, sketching, & the satisfaction of completing home improvement projects. I've had several near death experiences (NDE) during my lifetime. The 1st was when I was a teenager. I had accidently cut an artery & several veins in my arm on some broken glass & I would have bled to death if a Good Samaritan with first aid knowledge had not stopped to help stop the bleeding. The 2nd NDE was when I was a freshman in college in Arizona. I was returning to Phoenix after hiking the Grand Canyon & I was in a car that was cut in half by a car going over 100 mph. I spent 10 days in the hospital with multiple internal injuries & I lost 20 pounds, but survived. I experienced the 3rd NDE when I was hit by a GMC truck while I was riding my bicycle in AZ. The 4th NDE was when my 1948 Ford Panel Truck fell on my chest while I was removing the front axle. The 5th NDE occurred when I nearly died from an anaerobic pleural infection. Hopefully, my last NDE occurred in my late thirties when I was nearly pushed under a semi-truck after being rear-ended by a careless driver. I was obviously meant to live & eventually find The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, so I could raise my children in the Lord's Church.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and brought up Catholic and never thought I would ever be anything but Catholic. However, after meeting with the missionaries and being asked to pray about the Book of Mormon and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I received an overwhelming and undeniable confirmation from the Holy Spirit that the Church and the Book of Mormon are true. Additionally, there are many other reasons I am a Mormon. First, I am a better person in many ways because of the Church’s teachings. Second, I am a better Christian because I am a true follower of Christ, I live the teachings of the Church and I serve my fellow brothers and sisters, as well as my community. Third, Jesus Christ leads this Church through his earthly Apostles and Prophet. Lastly, if anyone studies the Church and its teachings by becoming an investigator of the Church, there is no way you can deny that this Church is founded and led by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I'm not perfect, but I'm working toward perfection. I strive to live the Lord’s instruction to love one another, including those that make it harder to love them. As a member of the Church I have served in many callings. Currently, I'm serving as an Assistant Librarian and a Den Leader in the Cub Scout program. Past callings include a Stake Missionary, Activities Committee Member, and Executive Secretary to the Bishop to name a few. I'm also a Home Teacher to several families in our Ward boundaries. I follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit and the Prophet, which I know are sent from my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Lastly, like other members of this Church, I obey, honor, and sustain the laws of this nation and I'm honored to be an American and a Mormon.
