Hi I'm Joseph

I am a father of seven soon-to-be eight, a banker, a husband, an avid sports enthusiast, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 39 and blessed to be married to my best friend. I have seven children and we are expecting our eighth in a few months. I never would have imagined that I would be a father of eight children. Lots of people ask why I have so many children. I always say that I really love kids and joke that I must be a little crazy. In fact, often times when my kids ask me where I'm going, I reply, " I am going crazy, do you want to come?" The truth is that my wife and I have both felt a distinct spiritual impression to have each one. I adore my children. Now, my life is spent attending concerts, sporting events, school activities or anything else that my children are involved in. I also look forward to my weekly date night with my wife. It is here that I get to enjoy a little peace and relaxation and spend some one-on-one time with my beautiful wife. My favorite date is dinner and movie. Dinner is a great opportunity for us to discuss the family and see how life is going. I was raised in the Northwest and athletics played a big role in my life in shaping who I have become as an adult. Sports have taught me discipline, goal setting, hard work and a desire to do my best. I hope to teach my children the same values. My occupation is a mortgage banker.

Why I am a Mormon

I feel very blessed to have been raised and taught the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that God is our Father in Heaven, that He lives, and that He loves us. He provided a Savior, His son, Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for His atonement. I am far from perfect but I try to live my life as Jesus did. I know as I do this, I will be blessed and I will be happy. I know that the Bible and Book of Mormon are true and contain the word of God. As I read and study from their pages, I feel closer to my Heavenly Father. I know that He can give me guidance and direction for my life.

How I live my faith

As a family we gather together each day to have family prayer. We always kneel together in a circle in our family room. There is special feeling that comes from gathering together for family prayer. We thank our Heavenly Father for our many blessings and pray for the things that we need as a family and also pray for others. As a family we try to read in the scriptures every day. Usually it's in the morning before the kids go off to school, sometimes it's in the evening. The most important thing is that we read every day. I know that it gives our family strength as we go our separate ways each day. Monday night is Family Home Evening. Here we gather as a family and sit down and have a lesson about a certain value, topic, or scripture story. We all take turns giving the lessons, kids included. We always end with a treat. I attend church every Sunday with my family. I also have the wonderful opportunity to work with the young men in the Boy Scouts program.
