Hi I'm Tyler

I'm a dental student, outdoorsman, and a proud father. I live in Arizona and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently in dental school and enjoy working on teeth. When I graduate I will work for the US Air Force as a Dentist. Growing up I was always involved in sports. I played baseball for many years and enjoy it still today when I get the chance. I grew up in the outdoors and love camping and hunting. I enjoy being outside in the world that God created for us. Though I'm partial to the Rocky Mountains, I love traveling to new places. I've lived on the East Coast, West Coast, and in numerous states in between. I also lived in the Netherlands for two years. I was able to meet people from nearly every region of the world. That experience really opened my eyes to the lives of people from so many different cultures and backgrounds. It gave me a greater appreciation for the Gospel and its ability to bless the lives of all of God's children regardless of where they are from and what their circumstance might be. I love my wife more than anything else in this world. She is an amazing friend and an incredible mother. We met while both working far away from our respective homes. We've been married four years and we became parents last year to a beautiful and sweet daughter. I love spending time with the two of them more than anything. Any day I get to be with my wife, watching our daughter walk around and smile and laugh is a great one.

Why I am a Mormon

As one who grew up in this church, I had the wonderful blessing of learning about the gospel from a young age. As I got older however, I began to realize that I was going to church and reading my scriptures simply because it seemed like the right thing to do. But I didn't have my own conviction of the gospel teachings. I decided I wanted to live the gospel for my own reasons and not simply because it seemed right. I felt a desire to know about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. I had read that "by their fruits ye shall know them." The Book or Mormon had been given to us by Joseph Smith and at that point in my life I had never read the entire book cover to cover. So I read the Book of Mormon and studied the principles that taught of Christ and his followers. One night when I had finished the last chapter of the Book of Mormon, I knelt beside my bed to pray and find for myself whether or not the things I had always been taught were true, actually were. My Heavenly Father answered my prayer that night. I knew then what I know now. The Book of Mormon is the Word of God. It was given to us through a Prophet and it serves as another witness of our Savior. Jesus Christ is the Son of God and he has established a church on the earth with a Prophet to lead us back to him. I know this to be true and it has been the source of the greatest happiness I could have ever experienced.

How I live my faith

I enjoy serving in the church. I have the opportunity each week to reach out to new people I have never met before and who may be struggling. I am able to see the blessings that to those who have faith in Christ and live his gospel. I am assigned to a few families have the opportunity to visit them each month in their homes. We discuss the gospel and I'm able to help them with any temporal needs they may have. This allows me to take part in the Lord's blessing of their family.
