Hi I'm Julie

I'm a wife to one amazing man, and a mom to two crazy boys. I love my life, and I love being a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a little town in the mountains of Arizona, I'm a small town girl at heart. I moved to Idaho for college and that's where I met my husband, we've been married for 8 years now and we're still going strong. We have two little boys, and they sure do keep us busy, but we wouldn't have it any other way. I am blessed to stay home with my little men, so I spend most of my days playing with cars and legos...we have loads of fun. I am a major bookworm. I just love immersing myself in a story and have a really hard time putting a good book down. I love to sew, scrapbook, blog, and basically do crafts when I find that extra minute in my day. I play the piano, and although it may not sound the best at times, one of my favorie things to do is sit down and plunk out a little tune on the keys. I also just love to be outside, camping is a favorite past time of mine.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon, but that's not why I am one. I'm a Mormon because I choose to be. I believe in the principles that our gospel teaches. I believe, with my whole heart, that the Book of Mormon is true. After my father passed away I started to question these things. I started to question if what I had been taught my whole life was actually true. I was only 14 and I just didn't understand why a loving Heavenly Father would take my daddy away from me. It took me a while to decide that I needed to find out for myself what was true. So I prayed. And I prayed. And I prayed some more. And it wasn't an instant answer like I had hoped it would be, it actually took quite a while. But when it did come I was filled with so much joy and peace, it was amazing. I knew that I would see my dad again. I knew that families are forever. I knew that the scriptures were true. I knew that there was a living prophet on the earth. I knew that God loved me, and wanted everything that was best for me. I just knew. And I still know.

How I live my faith

I am lucky to work with the young children in our ward. I play the piano for them every Sunday, and I just love to hear the little voices singing the wonderful songs they are learning. I have had this calling for the past 3 years, and I still love it. Our children are so smart and funny. I learn something new every Sunday from their talks and comments on our lessons. I am also a visiting teacher. Another lady in our ward and I go and visit with a couple other women once a month. We make sure they are doing okay and see if they need anything. We share a short message with them, and just get to visit as friends for a while. I love being a visiting teacher. These amazing women teach me so much, and I love getting to know them better each month.
