Hi I'm Dave

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a lawyer at a large, international corporate law firm. I'm a father of 4, two boys and two girls. Family has become my central hobbie, and I enjoy spending as much of my free time with with my family as is possible. My wife stays home with our kids, and she's a terrific mother and homemaker. Our family wouldn't be the same without her full-time commitment to our kids, and I'm thankful for the positive influence she has on them. My Jewish ancestry is an important component of who I am. My father is a convert to Christianity, and I share his religion. I appreciate the intermix between my heritage and my faith. I coach my son's basketball team. I ride a motorcycle. I run in hopes of staying in shape, and I enjoy playing basketball and tennis. I love to scuba dive.

Why I am a Mormon

My legal training and years practicing law have made me a skeptical and cynical -- just ask those who know me best. Nonetheless, I consider myself deeply religious. I find the juxtaposition between my skeptical/cynical side and my religious side to be an interesting case study. Only explanation is that the Spirit of the Lord has touched my heart to know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are true. I'm grateful for my church's emphasis on family. As I've focused my time and energies on my family I've learned that it is through my family that I find the greatest happiness in my life. I find peace in my life as I try to live my life in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ. My involvement in the "Mormon" church has made me less focused on myself and more focused on helping others, and I appreciate that positive influence in my life.

How I live my faith

I'll be honest -- I feel like I'm still very much a work in progress. However, I hope and feel like I'm generally moving in the right direction to becoming more like my Savior. My goal is to live my life in harmony with the gospel of Jesus Christ and to devote my spare time, talents and money towards helping others and toward the good of my community.
