Hi I'm Connor Orr

I sing all day long. I love being myself and having fun at the same time. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I really like spending the weekends with my friends. I also really like doing things with my 3 brothers. My family is really important to me too. I don't really look like any of my siblings and I'm the runt of the litter, even though I'm not the youngest. I'm independent so I like taking time to just do my own thing. I love singing music, and I do it all day long. My favorite genre of music is A Capella. It's cool because you can make any other genre of music into A Capella, just by using the human voice. As a hobby I make my own pens. I took a lot of woodworking classes so now I get to put my creativity into my pens. I really enjoy being able to see the beauty found in nature. A beautiful sunset, a rainy day, or some flowers are some of the things that I take the time to enjoy. In 2005 I had the privilege of living in Stockholm, Sweden for one year . An amazing blessing that I have received is that I am now serving as a full-time missionary in the Sweden Stockholm Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because what I know gives me a hope for tomorrow. There are a lot of really bad things that happen every day around the world, and it is very easy to get discouraged by this information. I have learned that once we die, it's not the end. I love the peace and happiness that come from living what Christ has taught. I am a Mormon because I have more freedom from living God's laws, than living a worldly life. Many think that Mormons have too many rules, that the rules restrict their freedoms. It may seem that way, but that is not the case. I have found that as I follow the teachings of Christ, found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, that I actually have more freedoms, than less. I am a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ made it possible for me to be forgiven of my sins. The Lord wants what is best for everybody.

How I live my faith

There are many ways that one can live their faith. I live my faith by doing many things. I am currently serving a 2-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the country of Sweden. This is living my faith because my purpose as a missionary is to invite others to come closer to Christ. I don't force my religion on other people, I just invite. I think that the best way I live my faith is just by actually living my religion. Being an example is one of the easiest ways to live your faith. Every day I try to live my life as good as I can. I'm not perfect, but I work hard every day to become better and better. Some of the ways that I get better are by praying, reading my scriptures daily, and by going to church every week. Those are very simple ways that I choose to build my faith, and I have seen many positive things come from it.

Are Mormons Christians?

Connor Orr
Absolutely. In order to be a Christian one must believe in Christ (Christ is the main part of the word Christian). The name of the Mormon church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. When the church's name is broken down it means that the church is made up of saints living today who belong to Jesus Christ's church. Our religion is based on the teachings of Christ. One of the most important things that has ever happened on this earth is that Jesus Christ paid the price for all our sins so that we would have to opportunity to be forgiven of our sins, but also so that we could be changed for the better. The teachings of Jesus Christ can be found throughout the church. Are Mormons Christians? Mormons believe in Christ, so yes we are Christians. Show more Show less
