Hi I'm Ben

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have an amazing wife and am the father of 5 beautiful children aged 7 and under. I completed my degree as a civil engineer, but currently work in pest control. I play the piano and guitar, and I love to sing (although admittedly not very well) I love to play and watch most every kind of sport and game, including the ones produced by Hasbro, Milton Bradley and the Nintendo Wii. I served a full time mission for the church in Jamaica and I absolutely loved it!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon church from birth, but I don't attribute tradition or longevity to my reasons for remaining a member of the Church. Like so many others, one reaches a point in their life when they must find the truth for themselves and stop relying upon the testimony of others. In short, I "converted" to the church as a teenager after doing the things that every convert must do. I read and prayed about the Book of Mormon. I prayed to know if Joseph Smith, the prophet that helped restore Christ's church back on Earth, was a true prophet. I received an undeniable witness by the spirit that these things were true. You cannot have such a strong witness for truth and not feel a need to join yourself to it. Since that time long ago as a teenager, my membership in this church has do nothing but grow stronger and the blessings received have become richer and more rewarding.

How I live my faith

I am currently an adult Sunday School teacher in my congregation. We are studying the New Testament this year. Although the time that is spent each week preparing for the lesson is consuming, it has helped me to understand more deeply and clearly the role that our Savior, Jesus Christ plays in our life. I feel deeply blessed to have an opportunity to communicate the thoughts and feelings of my heart about the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those in my class. I am always willing to share my beliefs and thoughts about the Church with anyone interested in listening.
