Hi I'm Ken

I am a water Quality Professional, I live in the White Mountains of Arizona, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a water quality professional, having spent over 30 years in developing and delivering clean water and managing the conveyance and treatment of wastewater. I am a husband, a father and a grandfather who loves the out of doors and especially seeing the grandure and majesty of Heavenly Fathers creation in such places as the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Yellowstone, Zion Canyon, Arches and many other beautiful places. I am also a scoutmaster which has given me the opportunity to share my love and appreciation of God's handiwork with hundreds of youth. I have been involved in coaching and mentoring youth in several aspects such as volunteer coaching, class room presentations, and serving as a meritbadge counselor.

Why I am a Mormon

Being somewhat of an outdoorsman I have developed an appreciation for compasses. I now have a small collection of them whch I value as they can give me a true bearing, a direction that will keep me on course when hiking in the wilderness. The gosple of Jesus Christ is a compass in my life to lead me through this veil of tears to a far better land of promise. My wife and I lost an infant son to SIDS in 1984. Our faith and the love and support of members of our faith and our family carried us through that difficult experience and we came to know that the spirit of our son lives on. As the scriptures have directed our path through this life, we are now able to help others, just as I teach map and compass skills to my scouits.

How I live my faith

When I see a picture of the Savior talking with the women at the well in Samaria and think of how she states that he has nothing with which to draw water with, I think of my chosen profession. In her situation, one needed a vessel to lower into the well to lift the water to the surface to those who were thirsty. I manage the pumps and infrastructer that draws water from underground wells and delivers it to the homes and businesses and facilities of my community. But as in the story, I have the ability to deliver more then just the water which meets an immediade physical need. I can also deliver the teachings of Jesus Christ, and impart an appreciation for His creation with my volunteer work in my church and community. My temporal work and my church involvement enables me to provide essential items to both body and spirit. By teaching outdoor skills and a love an appreciation of nature to the youth in my community, I am endeavoring to relate how God's love has and will continue to bless our lives as we come to understand and accept it.
