Hi I'm Dale

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Grandpa with an interest in Family History. In grade school I never liked the subject of History because it was a bunch of names, dates and places with no meaningful purpose. However, reading about your own ancestors brings things to life. You start to understand the emotions, trials and triumphs of those related to you. And it makes it easier to go through your own trials when you see that others have done so too. You never really know who you are unless you understand who your ancestors were.

Why I am a Mormon

As I grew up, I was told that the Book of Mormon was true, but wanted to know for myself. It was not enough to be told by other people, even by my own parents. The Book of Mormon contains a special promise: if you will ask God sincerely, he will reveal the truth of it to you. Not wanting to lie when I told others I knew it was true, I did ask God. I was hoping for a spiritual manifestation from the Holy Ghost, such as a strong burning in the bosom, but did not receive it. So I continued to study and ponder the book of Mormon for a period of about 3 months. After all this earnest effort, I realized that as I read and studied, I had received a stronger and stronger assurance of the certainty of it's truthfulness. This witness of certainty eventually went far beyond any shadow of doubt. What the Book of Mormon related, really did happen in the past and really would come to pass in the future. After coming to know the truth, I taught it to others in Spain. While there, I had a most surprising reaction from many when I told them they could know the truth by asking God himself instead of relying on man. The reaction was FEAR. Why? Because if it were true, they would have to change their lives, and they were very comfortable where they were. They were afraid to ask. Will you accept God's invitation?
