Hi I'm Ashley Rasmussen

I'm an artist. I'm a married mother of 4 boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When I was 16 years old, I was involved in a serious car accident where I was thown out of the car and sustained a traumatic head injury. I was in a coma for several weeks. Shortly after the accident, the doctors felt like I would likely not ever be fully "normal" again. After I came out of the coma, I had to re-learn how to walk, talk, read, write, and many other daily tasks. I lost the memory of my childhood. My faith and the faith of my family and friends wouldn't let me stop until I was able a year later to return to high school and graduate with my class. This event was a life changing experience that brought me closer to Christ. I was blessed to recover and I am able to lead a normal life today. A few years after the accident I married and am blessed to be the mother of four beautiful boys. The blessings from my accident are many. The location of the injury to my brain caused other parts of my brain to be stimulated, increasing my artistic skills and talents. I was blessed to remember who my family and friends were. I know that my Father in Heaven has a plan for me. I am grateful every day for a loving God who blesses us in unique ways -- like my accident.

Why I am a Mormon

During the experiences of my accident, I came to know for myself, that God lives, that he loves me, and that he has a plan for all of us. I was born into an LDS family, but the faith building experiences from my accident when I was 16, gave me a sure testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ has provided me numerous opportunties to serve others inside and outside of His Church. I have been able to serve and teach in a variety of ways. I participate in school and community activities where I am able to help others of God's children. Because I have four boys, I have also had the opportunity to be a Cub Scout leader as well.
