Hi I'm Rick M. Farrer

I grew up in Utah loving the outdoors. I am a retired electrician, a husband, father, grandfather, missionary, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

Some of my favorite things include collecting rocks - anywhere, anytime, hiking, spending time with my grandkids, fishing, and walking on the beach with my wife. I've found a lot of joy over the years working with the Boy Scouts of America and helping young men realize their goals. I am a people person and a story-teller. I enjoy writing poetry just for fun and family. My family, along with my faith, is my greatest joy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into the gospel after my grandparents joined the church. After a difficult and rocky time of self-searching, I came to the conclusion that the gospel was indeed true and would be where I found happiness. I came to know my Savior personally and wanted to dedicate my life to serving Him. I have been actively following His gospel since I was 25 years of age and I have found great joy in His service since becoming an active member. I find great joy when I see the light of the gospel in the eyes of my children and grandchildren. I look forward to the opportunity I will have to share this gospel with my brothers and sisters in Australia as I serve as a missionary alongside my eternal companion.

How I live my faith

I always strive to follow the Savior's perfect example in all I do and I pray that I can see others the way He sees them. Service is the key to happiness. Working with the young men in our local area, especially through the scouting program, has been a bright spot in my life. I enjoy helping the young men realize their own capabilities and reach their goals. I've had the opportunity to serve on the City Council in our area and have helped with many service projects for other churches and the schools in our city and community.
