Hi I'm Spencer

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in a smaller town in Montana where there were not many members of the LDS church. I am the sixth of seven siblings and was raised in very humble circumstances. Through my highschool years I was involved with sports, FFA, band and choir. I moved out when I was a junior in highschool and finished my high school years working and living on a few different ranches. I spent a good portion of my junior year living by myself in a camper trailer in a very small town of 15 people. There was a portion of time in high school when I was the only member in the community and I didn't attend church meetings for some time. When I attended a community college I decided to start attending church again and spoke with the Bishop. I was not sure about a mission but decided that I wanted to return to church attendance. I ultimately decided to continue to attend college and not serve a mission. After making this decision and knowing that I wasn't going to serve a mission for someone else such as my parents, I decided that I wanted to serve a mission for me. This was one of the best and life altering decisions I could have made. I served a mission in Lima, Peru. I am now married with three children (5,2,10 months). I work as an executive in education managment. I have lived in Idaho, Arizona, Utah, Nevada.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason that I am Mormon and continue to try to follow the counsel and teachings of the church is because it brings guidance and direction to this life. The teachings of the church helps guide me in trying to strengthen my relationship with God and my family. It helps to try to keep an eternal perspective. This helps me to not follow the crowd and do the things that many consider normal. Being able to successfully follow the teaching of the church will help strengthen marriages and other family relationships. I know that there are many challenges and temptations that we face. If we have strayed from the straight and narrow path, as we all have with the exception of Christ, we can return and improve free of guilt as long as we follow the steps of repentance that we are taught.

How I live my faith

I have recently started working with the scouts in my areas. I had many great experiences and memories from my teenage years from men that donoated their time which allowed me to do many things that I would not have been able to do otherwise.
