Hi I'm Dorothy

I was a heroin baby who beat the odds because of Jesus Christ. I am Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife to a wonderful man. I take care of the elderly at their homes and really enjoy their company. Because of my unique life, I have learned to appreciate all different types of people and have made many friends. I served a mission in England and hope to be a mom one day. A talent I have is to be able to find the good in everyone.

Why I am a Mormon

I was a heroin baby along with my brother. Our mom had been an addict for many years and thought suicide was her way out. These sister missionaries found my mom and taught her about the church and Jospeh Smith. The idea of free food and a man seeing God caught her attention. She was a biker in a group I would rather not mention and was the maker and distributor of drugs. We had to move to Texas from California to change the life style we were in . We learned how to live a some what normal life with lots of lessons to learn. She became an amazing example of of the gospel and how it can change lives. After she died I broke the chain of our families past, forever. Many crazy things have happened to me in my life. Some from my choices but mostly just because of the life I was given. I know this church is true because I have seen the Lords hands in many things from my mom dyeing and a family in the church adopting me, to the little things of knowing me and the desires and fears I have. I love Joseph Smith and his courage to stand for the truth. Im grateful that families can be together forever. I love the families I have been given. I love Jesus Christ with all my heart and am grateful for his courage to sacrifice his life for mine. I know my Heavenly fathers loves me and always has a plan to help me become better. This Church is true.

How I live my faith

I was Laurel president, Gospel doctrine teacher, 2nd counselor in Relief Society. I have always been camp or die so I was called to 2nd year camp leader. I served a mission in England where I learned self discipline and good study habits. Obedience is the key. I get asked to speak at youth firesides, seminary, and different sacrament meetings to share my story of how the gospel changed my life. I believe we have a power beyond our comprehension.

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

I believe that things will get worse because it was foretold and each individual has a responsibility to bring light to this world. The issue with pornography comes from either a lack of knowledge not knowing its effect or refusing to do what your told and it becomes a drug to the mind which only the lord can heal over time. Satan is a powerful man who can bring down even the strongest if aloud. We need to pray for missionary experiences so we may share the truth of all things to those who are ready to receive it.
