Hi I'm Katie.

I'm a lawyer. I'm a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a new mom to a sweet baby girl. Right now I stay home with my daughter, but I was formerly a public defender for several years. I loved serving my clients and advocating for them in court. My work experience taught me so much compassion for others who may be quite different from me and who truly needed my help. I try to be athletic even though it doesn't come naturally to me- I like running, tennis, and most recently, cycling. I enjoy traveling but I am more and more of a homebody all the time. I love learning and I very much love music. My husband and my daughter are my sunshine and my world!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know the LDS church is Christ's true restored gospel on this Earth. I have known this since I was a child, though my life experiences have tried my faith in that understanding. The Spirit has testified to me that our Heavenly Father lives, and that Jesus Christ lives and is our Savior. This knowledge brings me peace and gives me hope. I know that there is a great purpose to this life, even if I only understand that in a very simple way. I know that God loves me. Even though life is full of pain and difficulties, I find joy in the gospel and in my belief in our Heavenly Father and in our Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I try to be a true Christian, though I am far from perfect. I try to treat others with kindness, compassion, and honesty. My calling in the church is to teach a class of women once a month. I love to study and learn the gospel as I prepare for my lessons, and while teaching I hope to initiate discussions that will bring a greater understanding of the gospel and of each other. On a daily basis I try to live my faith by creating a Christ-centered home for my family with an environment conducive to the Spirit. I try to love others and also open my heart to be loved.
