Hi I'm Andrew

I'm a husband, daddy, martial artist, businessman and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Missouri).

About Me

I'm a husband of a beautiful wife and a daddy to 6 precious children, ages 16 (girl), 14 (girl), 11 (girl), 7 (boy), 6 (boy), 3(girl). They are my treasures! I work for a medium size company as their Asia business manager. we don't make or sell anything fancy (simple truck parts) but I have a wonderful opportunity to travel throughout Asia, including China, Japan and South Korea. From the time i was a child, I have been fascinated with Asian culture, language and most of all, martial arts! Growing up in the 80's, I got hooked watching Bruce Lee and Ninja movies. And soon after, training and competing in various styles became my passion. Until recently, I also enjoyed training for and competing in mixed martial arts competitions, becoming a local amateur champion. And now, while I no longer have time to compete, I still love to study and practice whenever opportunity permits.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother joined the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when I was still quite young, and how grateful I am for it! Not having any religious friends as a teenager, I sometimes felt that my religion held me back from experiencing many of the world's pleasures. However, as I have grown and begun a family of my own, i happily discovered that the teachings of Jesus Christ never restrict or limit my happiness. Rather, by following His teachings, he has kept me free from all addictions, and helped me to learn how to live a life of happiness. Though I have studied many religions around the world, I choose to continue my "Mormon" Christian faith as I have discovered that it has helped me to understand more clearly and deeply my personal relationship to Jesus Christ as well as helped me to discover his plan of happiness for my family.

How I live my faith

The most important way I strive to live my faith is within the walls of my own home. As a husband and a father, I take time after each day (normally dinner time when we are all together) to read scriptures to my family and discuss together how Christ's teachings can bless our home. We work together and play together often, as well as look for opportunities to serve others as a family. I also currently serve as the Bishop (pastor) of our local church which gives me many opportunities to teach of Christ and serve others in the community. Though this service takes a lot of time, I have found that when we follow the example of Christ and give of our time and talents to others, the blessings i and my family receive far outweigh any effort or sacrifice on my part. The gospel has been such a blessing for my family. The more I learn of and apply Christ's teachings, the greater has been our family experience of enjoying peace and happiness in our home.
