Hi I'm Leilani

I'm a PTO president, a mom, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi - I grew up in San Diego and now I find myself living in the desert in Arizona. After college I became a teacher in California. I taught 4th grade and loved it. One of my friends talked me into moving to Arizona and a few years later I met my husband. Now instead of teaching school, I find myself volunteering there all the time. I'm currently the PTO president. I love getting to help out the teachers (I know how much I loved having parent helpers when I taught school) and getting to see my kids at school and meeting their friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I first became a Mormon because my parents were Mormon. But that isn't why I still go to church today. I choose to be a Mormon still because of the peace that it brings to our family. It helps me teach my children to be the kind of people I want them to be when they are grown. It gives me an anchor for my life. It teaches me how I can follow the Savior's example and become more like Him. The gospel of Jesus Christ helps me to do a little better each day, to treat others a little better, and to love others a little more.

How I live my faith

Right now I am lucky enough to play the piano in Primary. This is the weekly meeting for kids ages 3-11. I LOVE hearing their sweet voices as they sing about the Savior, and faith, and families. It is wonderful each week to spend time with the kids and to feel of their love of the Savior Jesus Christ. I always learn from them.
