Hi I'm Mando
I'm a Hawkeye. I'm a software engineer. I'm a husband and a father. I'm a Mormon.
I'm a University of Iowa alumni. I studied computer science and work as a software engineer. As much as I love playing on computers and being a nerd, I also enjoy the outdoors and sports. I love playing basketball and watching my college football as well as nature hiking. I enjoy learning and thats one of the thing that I like about my profession and life, is that your always learning. I enjoy trying out new things and traveling. I have been blessed with a loving wife and now I'm a fairly new father of a baby boy. My son is twice a handfull but love him and my wife dearly.
Why I am a Mormon
I was born into the church. Meaning that both my parents were members of the church when I was born. I grew up in the church all my life and it was easy cause I was little and did what my parents told me to. As I grew older I became rebellious, like most teenagers. There came a point in where I stop attending church for a short while. It was during this time that I felt like something was missing in my life. I felt like I had no direction, and had doubts about what my parents had thought me. I attended other churches with friends but it never felt right. The time came when I decided that I would pray and ask my heavenly father for help. After praying for months, I felt that I should read the book of Mormon. As I started reading and praying I could feel the love that heavenly father has for me. I asked heavenly father if this was the true church, and received my answer through the scriptures. After that I have never looked back and have been active and the church ever since. I now have that peace and joy that I longed for. I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ and that our father in heaven loves us very much and wants us to draw close to him.
How I live my faith
I live my faith by being as active as I can in church and church activities. I know and understand that my family is important and comes first. Yet I have been given the opportunity and blessing of being in charge of missionary work in my family ward. This is a fun but demanding challenge I have been given. I work a lot with the full time missionaries, new members and with people who are not members. The greatest blessing is seeing the change the savior bring to the live of new members and those who are seeking Jesus Christ.
