Hi I'm Cody

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in the church. I became inactive when i was 17 for about ten years. I never saw the importance of the gospel and i took the Book of Mormon for granted. I always knew deep inside that this was Christs true church, but as a kid, and caught up in the world, i feared man more than God, and wanted to do my own thing. I was talking with my brother one day about how bad the world has gotten. Also, about the conspiracy and corruption that was so apparent in our government. We decided together that we should no longer procrastinate the day of our repentance. If we were ever going to repent and clean up, and do something important with our lives, we figured the best time is, NOW. I have been active in the church for almost two yrs now, and i have never felt the kind of peace and comfort in my life as i feel now.

Why I am a Mormon

As a kid i resented the so many rules that i had, and the church had in particular for its members. I never realized the importance for such strict guidance. But as ive grown into manhood, i've learned that it is just what we need in this world of chaos, corruption and uncertainty. Now i don't look at t as things i cant do, but as things i shouldn't do for my own health and progress to enlightenment. Our Father in Heaven loves us enough to sacrifice is son. The Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ loves us enough to sacrifice himself, to have suffered beyond what any mortal man could have bared, and to turn himself over into the hands of the most wicked men on earth and be crucified. They just want whats best for us, and they want us to return to them, to live forever in paradise. The Father has more gifts to offer us than we can imagine.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life just as the church teaches. We are commanded to live in the world but not of the world. I try to focus solely on spiritual matters. I want to be ready to stand before the judgment bar of God and say, 'Ive done thy work.' Of course i make mistakes, many mistakes. But that is why the Atonement is so important. The Father commanded father Abraham to 'be thou perfect as thy Father in Heaven is perfect.' He knew even Abraham couldn't reach perfection in this life, nevertheless, it is a commandment. It is a goal The Father has set for us. Therefore we must always strive to be perfect as our Father in Heaven is. If we do that, we will again be brought into His presence.
