Hi I'm Dale

I'm an engineer. I'm a "do-it-yourself" kind of person, and a bit of a perfectionist.

About Me

I'm married with 2 cute, adopted little kids. In my spare time I like to play racquetball, tennis, and chess. I also like rock climbing, reading, computers / linux / programming, fixing things around the house, and learning new things (particularly physics, science, technology, philosophy, and computers). As a child, I lived in Central and South America for 10 years where I picked up Spanish and an appreciation for being an American. Before I was married, I spent 2 years in Taiwan as a missionary where I learned Mandarin Chinese and appreciation for the Chinese culture. I have a MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, and work as an engineer writing software to support robotics applications.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are Mormon, so religion has been part of my life ever since I can remember, even though I wasn't very interested in it until I went off to college. Studying the Bible and the Book of Mormon is what led to a conviction that Joseph Smith was a prophet who literally spoke with God and acted on His commandment to restore the complete doctrine and organization that was established by Jesus Christ. This conviction does not come from reason or tangible evidence, but is of the same nature and source that leads billions of others around the world to believe in God.

How I live my faith

Going to church is a good thing, but the most important part of religion is trying to be a better person. I make mistakes every day, but I am better and I understand more than I did when I was younger. And I plan on being able to say the same thing about myself today when I am older.
