Hi I'm Jeri

I am an empty nester. I hang out with 11 best friends who call me grandma, they say they love me just the way I am! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a happily married empty nester who is crazy about 11 beautiful grandchildren and still very involved with four incredible children and their spouses. I enjoy watching sports and movies. One of my favorite things to do is organize and put on parties. Never a dull moment in the Taylor family, there is always a party or celebration going on! I have many opportunities to teach, speak and motivate groups on anything from Self Esteem to lifes experiences and the connection we have to God. I also enjoy making up and telling stories especially to my grand children and watching their reaction, they are the joy of my life, the reflection of their parents, and the blessing of letting go of my children, which was hard to do! If and when life slows down, I look forward to penning those stories, life history and possibly a book one day.

Why I am a Mormon

How blessed I have been to have several people who were pivotal points for having the blessing of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in my life. My mom's side of the family living in Massachusetts at the time found it necessary to move to Californina for my great grandmothers health. She died shortly after that. Great grandfather remarried a Mormon and was converted to the church. On my Fathers side my grandmother remarried a great man who was a very faithful leader in the church. So through divine design two step grandparents, changed my life forever. Later my parents became inactive in the church. Again the pivotal people came into play. Through the loving service of a primary chorister (Primary - childrens organization) the seeds of my own testimony began to grow through music at the age of 11. Also, through the loving service of a home teacher my parents began to attend regularly. So as you see there were a handful of people placed in my life story that again, changed my life forever, literally as we were sealed as a family forever in the Mesa Arizona Temple. I am grateful to these special people and especially for parents who were sensitive to the spirit and had the courage to follow. Interestingly enough because of them I am blessed, my children are blessed, there children are blessed and it goes on and on and on! From there I desired to have my own testimony at the age of 26 after reading about Moroni in the Book of Mormon I received an overwhehlming feeling of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and every time I sup out of it's pages it grows stronger and stronger. I am a Mormon because I know the true gospel of Jesus Christ is taught in it's fulness and leads to a happiness that only He can provide. I know that I am a daughter of God, that I am here to gain experience, to accept and make the Saviors atonement effective in my life. I know that Jesus Christ died for me but most importantly that He LIVES for me.

How I live my faith

I wake up everyday with purpose. With reason to be good , to serve, to love, to go on. I try to fill my life with accomplishing what my Heavenly Father would have me do. Service is a way of life for me as it has had such a major effect in my life as others serve and lift me. I love being an example of faith to my family each day and working through lifes challenges together, knowing that our Savior Jesus Christ is right there beside us, guiding our way. I have had many opportunites to serve in the church, mostly with the young women ages 12-18. The youth of this church are amazing, with the world of temptation that they face I am amazed at their courage and faith. Are they perfect, no but so many of them really, realIy try to choose the right (CTR). I currently have the privilege of working in the Mesa Arizona Temple. What an incredible place to be weekly, to feel the spirit and witness what the fulness of the gospel can do for people, there is nothing on this earth that compares. I also enjoy serving as a visiting teacher. We are our brothers keeper. The experiences with this over the years has been a joy, to get to know such neat people, and learn from each other. So I guess I would say, serving others is how I live my faith.
