Hi I'm Kyle

Im a Husband, a Father, a baseball coach and a therapist, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My wife, Amy, and I live in Santa Monica, CA with our amazing daughter Anabelle. She just turned 1 and is so much fun. I am originally from Renton, WA. I served a mission for the church in Porto, Portugal before going to Brigham Young University-Idaho. I graduated in Psychology and then went on to get my masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. We live really close to the beach so we are spoiled to be able to go to the ocean whenever we want. I work as a therapist for the church and other locations around the area. I also coach High School baseball in Malibu. I love sports, cooking, being outside and spending time with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a mormon? There are so many reasons. I was born into the church and was baptized when I was 8 years old. I had great friends in and out of the church growing up that made it easy for me to stand up for what I believed in. When I turned 19 I served a mission in Portugal for 2 years. When I returned home, I attended BYU-Idaho where I met my wife. We were married in the Salt Lake Temple. I guess I have gone through the normal motions of being a mormon; baptism, mission, temple marriage. But I haven't done all of this, or I don't continue to do all of this just because. I am mormon because I have received numerous answers that the path I am on is right. I have peace inside because I know that my Heavenly Father is pleased with the things that I am doing. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and he died for me. I know that because of him I can return to live with him and my family forever. The Plan of Salvation that Jesus Christ has set up for us gives me peace and comfort. I am grateful for the scriptures; the Bible and the Book of Mormon. They testify of Jesus Christ and his life, and give me answers. Being Mormon isn't just about going to church each Sunday, its about practicing what you preach. Every day I am a member of the church, Every day I am influenced by the things that I believe, Every day I know that because I am a mormon people are watching what I do . My beliefs aren't compartmentalized into specific days, I am a mormon always. As mormons, we do our best to show kindness and love to everyone and I am grateful for that. I am a mormon because I know my Savior and my Heavenly Father. The relationship that I have with them is real. I have worked to strengthen that relationship with them on a daily basis as I pray and obey the commandments. I know that I am not perfect by any means, but they love me regardless and being mormon helps me understand that.

How I live my faith

I have the opportunity to live my faith through my career as well as through normal church service. I work for LDS Family Services, which provides a number of services, including therapy/counseling, to church members. On a daily basis I am able to implement the teachings of Jesus Christ in session. I also serve in my ward as a Primary teacher. I am also the 11 year old boy scout leader for the troop in our Stake. It is a great blessing to be able to work with the youth and to help strengthen their testimonies of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
