Hi I'm Nancy

I'm raising 3 kids. I love to read a good book. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a married, city girl who loves to read, play volleyball, and sit around chatting and laughing with my family. Years ago, I graduated from college in Elementary Education but when I started having children, I chose to be a stay at home mom. My kids now range in age from 9 to 20. Every day I'm busy running my youngest two to soccer practices, scouts, and other church and school activities, while also texting and giving advice to my oldest who is away at college. Makes for a busy life! I am grateful for the time that I have with my children. In 2001, my second oldest child died. He was 6 years old. I miss him and I miss how our life would have been if he were still here. But, I know he is waiting for us on the other side and this knowledge has helped me to cope with his death.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and have always known the things I was taught were true. I am a very logical person and the gospel just makes sense! I have also had moments in my life when the Spirit has testified to me that I am living the way God wants me to. Living the gospel makes me happy! Some people outside the church view the laws that we live by as too restrictive and controlling. The way I see it, the laws I choose to live by keep me free from addictions and safe from the harmful things of the world. Who wouldn't want that?

How I live my faith

The church has given me many leadership opportunities. I have worked with children, youth, and adults. I currently direct a choir of about 30 to 40 members and have found a talent there that I never knew I had. That's another thing I love about this church. I have been able to develop and share talents such as planning and conducting meetings, preparing and giving talks in front of large audiences, and singing in choirs and small groups. In doing these things, I am serving and learning to love my Brothers and Sisters. My husband and I focus our lives on teaching our children how to be happy, productive, spiritual individuals. We want them to be examples of righteous living to their friends. We are glad that they will have the same kind of opportunities we have had to develop their talents and to serve others.
