Hi I'm Robert

Im a husband, father of 4, swimming pool contractor and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up on a farm, from the time I was born until the age 19. Having a huge love for dirt bikes and wake boarding, it seemed at times to be all that consumed my mind. I spent hundreds of hours doing these activities. At the age 19, I served a two year mission to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. This was a switch-point in my life where I went from breathing and sleeping dirt bikes and wake boards to focusing more on a career and family. Now, at the age of 30, I'm a self-employed swimming pool contractor, husband and father of 4. These are my passions now. However, I still have a love to be on the lake and hop on my motorcycle for a good ride.

Why I am a Mormon

Its simple for me, HAPPINESS. I firmly believe that it is a life-long process to learn self-mastery. I also beleave threw self-mastery, we can enjoy freedom from nearly all negative feelings, thoughts and actions. Thow I'v studied many books on this subject and analyzed my life experiences, there has been nothing more influential than the simple, pure doctrine of Jesus Christ. The principles and laws of obedience, sacrifice, love, and consecrating life for a purpose to love and look out for others has been, by far, the most powerful influence in teaching me self-mastery. Through the organization of the church, I've been able to be taught regularly and often on these subjects in direct connection to the mission of Jesus Christ and have been given, literally, hundreds of opportunities to practice them through service to others. Logically alone, that knowledge would be enough to have me act. However, there are and have been many spiritual witnesses through the Spirit of God that have enlightened my mind and increased my capacity to do good. Through ordinances and covenants made with God, I can enjoy these spiritual gifts daily as I put energy and effort into those promises made with him. This is the icing on the cake for me and why I am a member of His church.

How I live my faith

A friend of mine once described my kids as ants because they love to crawl all over almost anybody. I like to gage my faith off of the love I feel for my wife and kids. Early in my marriage, my beautiful wife made it CLEAR that we would make it a habit of having a date night on Fridays. From that point on there have been very few Fridays in the last 8 years that we have not been on a date. These evenings with my wife have turned out to be the highlight of my week. Whether we are doing something exciting or simple, this time with my wife is most precious to me. Likewise the time I get to spend with my kids, no matter the event, is most often down right fun.
