Hi I'm Debbie

I'm a mom, a doctor, a musician, an outdoors enthusiast, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love so many things! First and foremost in my life is my family, I have a wonderful husband and three beautiful daughters! I keep busy running kids to soccer, swimming, band and choir. I also work part-time as a pediatrician and I get to love other people's kids too, and help them grow and stay healthy! I am interested in international health and have traveled to Kenya as part of a medical program there. I love music of all kinds and play many instruments, my favorites are trumpet and guitar. I became interested in writing music several years ago and love writing songs for our church choir and for my daughters to sing in church. I love the outdoors and this beautiful world that was created for us all. As a family we love hiking, skiing, mountain biking, camping and rock climbing, pretty much everything outdoors. My husband and I have been rock climbing and ice climbing for a very long time now, we have climbed the Grand Teton and Mt. Rainier together, and still love hanging out and doing this while the kids are in school.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by wonderful parents who were members of this church who taught me to love the Lord. They loved me and taught me values and standards, and were role models for these values as I grew. As I grew up, I questioned my religion as all should do to gain their own knowledge, and after many prayers and experiences I gained a testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. I continue to get confirmation of the truth of this church today, this keeps me strong. I know that I have been so blessed and protected in my life by keeping the commandments of the Lord. I love my Savior Jesus Christ with all my heart.

How I live my faith

My favorite thing to do to serve in my church is to work with the youth. I feel so strongly that the youth of today need so much support to live up to the high standards that are set in our religion. But it is also these same high standards which keep us safe and happy and free. In my family we read our scriptures, say family prayers every night and have a weekly "family night". In our church I work with the young women on Sundays and with weekly activities, I really enjoy being with them and feeling of their energy and spirit. It is awesome to take them camping and showing them the world that I love. I encourage them to make the right choices in their lives.
