Hi I'm Jaley

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello there! My name is Jaley, I am 19 years old and I'm from Colorado. I am the middle child of a family of 7, with 2 older sisters and 2 younger brothers. I love drawing, blogging, painting, calligraphy, makeup, photography... basically anything that sparks creativity! I am currently a nanny and a receptionist at a spa, both of which are jobs that I adore. In a couple years I will be training to receive my esthetics license, which I am super excited about. Other things about me.... I love watching movies, I am always cold, I laugh a whole lot, I have a birthmark on my right foot, I LOVE superman, and I love all things lovely! My favorite scriptures are Mosiah 24:14 and D&C 84:88.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the belief that families can be together forever, through Heavenly Father’s plan. Families are so important and it is so comforting to know that I can forever be with those I love and eventually eternally sealed to the man I love. I also love the meaning and purpose behind the atonement. Not only because it lets me and everyone else be forgiven of wrongdoings through the grace of Jesus Christ, but also because Christ not only suffered for our sins but all the pains we will face in this life. The Atonement would not exist without the character of Christ. Only He, the infinitely perfect Son of God, could make up for our imperfections. He is compassionate- so in order to understand everything we go through, the atonement was necessary. He is forgiving and full of mercy- because he loves us enough to want us to be able to live with him again. He is submissive to what the Lord wants him to do. He is selfless- why else would he go through so much pain for everyone? It didn’t benefit his level of perfection- He was already perfect, it was a selfless act. Christ is everything that I want to be, and I cannot even begin to be like Him without His grace or divine example. Also having a living prophet that can receive revelation for the church, and also to personally have the gift of Holy Ghost is very comforting to me, to know that we wouldn’t be left on earth without someone to help guide us. We are never alone, this is a teaching that has brought true comfort to me in my life- we are always surrounded by the love of our Savior, Heavenly Father and the Holy Ghost, and also people that are placed into our lives to help us through mortality. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has been the greatest blessing, and has brought me so much joy.

How I live my faith

I like to think of how we are meant to be the Lord's hands on the earth. I want to live my life in a way so that my example and love for others alone is a testament to how real God's love for each of us is. I try to model my life after the Savior; through his humility, love, and charity for all. Just like many others, I live imperfectly. However, I am grateful to walk this life with the knowledge that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I may one day become perfect. By doing simple things every day, I know I can improve myself little by little, such as keeping the commandments, listening to the words of the prophet and apostles, praying to my Father in Heaven, and searching diligently for guidance in the scriptures. I live my faith by doing exactly that: having faith. "And now as I said concerning faith—faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true." (Alma 32:21) While I do not have a perfect knowledge of the gospel, I have faith in its teachings, which has made all the difference.
