Hi I'm Carla

I'm a single mom with four grown children and two grandchildren and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work as a tech support specialist by day and a full time graphic design student by night. My superpowers include the ability to live on a shoe string budget, raise four wonderful children who turned out to be phenomenal adults, teach an adult Sunday School class, change my own oil, paint a mean landscape and down massive quantities of tortillas and salsa!

Why I am a Mormon

Being a single mom comes with certain challenges, but I am meeting them head on with the help of my Savior and the strength that I derive from living the Gospel each day. I find great joy in serving others and finding ways to lighten the burdens of those around me. The Gospel is my life. It defines me and guides my choices and actions. When my world was in turmoil, it was my life preserver. I have since learned that when the waters are raging around me, the Lord will not always jump in and rescue me, but he will get in the surge along with me and hold my head above the waterline until I once again find solid footing.

How I live my faith

I try to emulate the Savior and do as He would have me do. Living the Gospel isn't reserved just for Sunday, it is the pattern for my day to day life and interactions. Living a Christ centered life is my daily aspiration. I know that the Gospel is true and I am grateful for a living prophet on the earth today. This is a principle that reaffirms to me, our Heavenly Father's love for us in this day and age. I know that I am a daughter of God and that he loves me. When I remember my status as a true child of my Heavenly Father, I remember that those around me are His children as well and it motivates me to show forth greater love and kindness. Knowing who I am, why I am here, and where I ultimately want to be is what keeps me grounded in life.
