Hi I'm Cassie

I'm a country girl, a wife, and a mom. I love music, sports, and the great outdoors. I'm proud to be a Mormon!

About Me

Although I currently live in a big city, I'm a small-town girl through and through! I was lucky to grow up in a small, close-knit town surrounded by family and friends. I loved living in an environment where "everybody knows everybody", and love and service is an everyday occurrence. I LOVE the wide open spaces and simple lifestyles of the country. In my spare time, I enjoy sports, travel, and music. I've been playing sports since I was young and love participating in sporting events, especially basketball and softball! I also love to travel and see new places. I hope to someday travel the world! For now, I enjoy visiting the beautiful places around me and spending time in the beautiful outdoors Heavenly Father made for us. Music is one of my biggest passions! I love singing, dancing, and performing. I truly believe that music is one of the most powerful tools of communication on earth! I also love working with children! They are so loving and fun to be around; they bring a smile to my face when nothing else can! I hope to someday finish a degree that will allow me to work with children and make a difference in their lives. My family means everything to me! Nothing makes me happier than spending time with my family and making cherished memories with them. My amazing husband and I have been married for three years and have a sweet little daughter. We love having new adventures together and making memories that last!

Why I am a Mormon

I feel so blessed to have been born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! There's a feeling of peace and happiness that is undeniable when I attend church and follow the teachings of our Savior Jesus Christ and his Prophets and leaders. Although I've always been a member of the church, I had to gain my own testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel, through my own experiences. I have read the Book of Mormon, more than once, and have felt the quiet power that it contains. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, just as surely as I know the Bible is the word of God. I've received guidance and counsel from both books and am grateful that I have constant access to them! I know that we have Prophets in these Latter-days, sent to guide and direct us just as they directed the people in the scriptures. There's nothing quite like the feeling I get when I sit and listen to the Prophet's voice, when I feel the love he has for each of us and for the Savior. I have never been lead astray when I have followed his counsel and I know that he speaks the words that our Savior would speak if he were here today. I know just as surely as the sun shines that I am a child of God and that I've had answers to my prayers. When I pray, I know I am heard by a loving Heavenly Father who knows me personally and wants what's best for me and my family. I can't deny the love and guidance I feel when I hit my knees and ask for comfort and direction. I'm amazed at the patience and persistence of our Heavenly Father, that despite my mistakes and weaknesses, he still loves me and answers my prayers. We are blessed beyond measure to have his guidance and support, and the love and support of our Savior, Jesus Christ! The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is centered around family, love, and service, just as our Savior, Jesus Christ, dedicated his life to family, love, and service! What a blessing it is to have the Gospel in these Latter-days!

How I live my faith

I LOVE participating in church activities and have enjoyed several different responsibilities in the areas I've lived in. All of my responsibilities (which we refer to as "callings") have involved children and music, which has been so much fun! In the past I've been a teacher for 10 year old children and a chorister in my college ward. I'm currently serving as the music director for the children in our ward. I love the opportunity I have to share my love of music and the Savior with the children each sunday! Although it's sometimes challenging to think of new and exciting ways to teach music, I feel so blessed to spend time with the children each week and to feel their love and faith in our Savior. There's so much we can learn from their constant, unwavering love and faith!
