Hi I'm Brent

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being outdoors with my family. We enjoy biking, hiking, camping, kayaking, canoeing, and fly fishing. I am a husband and a father to three extremely energetic kids. We enjoy hanging out as a family, playing games, watching movies, mostly just being together.

Why I am a Mormon

Religion is not only something you may profess, but its something you live. I believe Jesus Christ when he said, "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest". (Matt:11:28) To me, the rest the Lord provides is a rest from the distractions and temptations of the world. A rest where you can find true piece and happiness and where you can find direction and meaning in your life. I have found that in my life, I am the most at peace when I am trying to follow Jesus Christ and show love for others. Life is certainly not always easy and we all have our own struggles, but understanding God's plan for me and my role in that plan brings a measure of direction and comfort. I know God loves all his children. He knows me and loves me. I can see God's love all around me.

How I live my faith

Faith is a word of action. I saw a sign the other day I really liked, it said, "Obedience is your faith in action". You show your faith by how you live your life. The LDS Church gives me the opportunity to serve in so many different ways. The church is organized in such a way that each member plays a critical role how the church functions. I've found that when I am serving other people I quickly loose the natural selfish tendencies I have. Selfless service gives me a better perspective on the important things in life, such as my family, friends, and how I live my faith.
