Hi I'm Bill

My father was in the Navy. I grew up in Japan, CA and TX. I am a Japanese speaking electrical engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of three boys, two of whom my wife and I adopted. All three are fantastic. I enjoy traveling throughout the world and learning about and experiencing new cultures. My hobbies include repairing mechanical and electrical items, whether around my home or at someone else’s. I also enjoy woodworking and creating fun and useful items. My favorite item has been a compressed air rocket launcher complete with a mission control center with three launch pads. Our whole neighborhood has enjoyed hours of rocket building and launching.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 17 years old my mother tried to get me to go to church with her and after many unsuccessful attempts she finally succeeded by telling me there were pretty girls at church. I have been going ever since, although now it is not for the pretty girls, it is because I developed a testimony of Jesus Christ. Over twenty five plus years later I realize that that choice was a pivotal decision in my life. Since then I have gained a greater appreciation for Jesus Christ and the sacrifice He made for me. This testimony has been strengthened through fasting and prayer and many soul-searching moments. I have felt the influence of God's love for me as an individual as I have struggled with death, sickness in my family, being able to have children, and then teaching them how to follow Christ. I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of Jesus Christ, that He is my Savior and Redeemer.

How I live my faith

The past several years, I have been striving to find the right opportunity to provide for my family. This had been a struggle but one with many blessings. The principles I have learned by studying the gospel have helped me keep positive and not lose hope. Some important things to us are gathering around the dinner table to have dinner as a family. It is a time we can discuss what happened throughout the day. We also strive to do things as a family, and church is one of those important activities. We do our best to have daily family prayer and scripture study. This is met with some resistance and difficulty at times. I know though, as a father, centering my family around the Gospel of Jesus Christ will only bless them.
