Hi I'm Clark

I am happily married with three kids; all boys. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in UT but grew up and have lived in AZ nearly all my life. In 7th grade I met my wife in art class. Not too long after turning 16 we went on our first date (it did not go well). Several months later after breaking my foot playing basketball, I was put next to her in choir and after a month or so of building up my courage, I asked her out again. We dated for nearly three years, wrote letters for two years while I served a mission for the church, dated for another year, have been married for nearly 10 years, and have three boys. The last 14 years with her and my boys have been the best years of my life. I am certain that we have all been blessed and received much joy as we strive to live our lives in accordance with the gospel of Jesus Christ. It has been a great life so far and I can't wait for the rest of it!

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the following reasons: - I have thoroughly studied the Book of Mormon, asked God in prayer if it is true, and received confirmation through the holy spirit that it is. - I have thoroughly studied the life and teachings of Joseph Smith and have prayed to God to know if God and Jesus Christ restored complete gospel knowledge and preisthood power to the earth via Joseph Smith. I received confirmation through the holy spirit that this is true. - I have prayed to God to know if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true Church of Jesus Christ and if he himself directs its affairs via direct revelation to living prophets and apostles. I received confirmation through the holy spirit that this is true. - I have done my best to obey the gospel as I have received it from Jesus Christ through ancient and living prophets and apostles. The results prove to me that I am choosing to do so correctly. I have experienced the healing power of the atonement of Jesus Christ in my life. I know Jesus Christ is real, that he lives, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only church on earth he personally leads and guides via direct revelation to living prophets and apostles.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be obedient to the commandments God has given me via ancient and modern day revelation to authorized servants as well as personal inspiration I have received through personal & family prayer and the holy spirit. When I make mistakes I folllow the process of repentance and allow the power of the atonement of Jesus Christ to change my heart, cleanse me, and help change me into a new person who won't choose to make the same mistake(s) again. That is how I live my faith in a nutshell. Then I repeat, repeat, repeat! As I do so I progress and become more like God and Jesus Christ. I hope to endure in this process of progression until the end of this life so I can live with my family in God's presence again.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Clark
The atonement of Jesus Christ is the greatest act of love & service ever performed. Jesus Christ volunteered to take upon himself every discomfort & sin experienced by mankind; it is a universal act. The atonement is required to save mankind from a fallen state & enable mankind to become exhalted and live in God's presence again. Adam and Eve were placed in the Garden of Eden not knowing good from evil. Progression cannot occur without opposition. God & Jesus Christ knew this and placed access to knowledge of good and evil in the garden and purposefully forbid Adam and Eve to access it. This was done with perfect knowledge and wisdom. God and Jesus Christ knew that for oposition to occur, there had to be something for Lucifer to oppose, which is why they Forbid access to knowledge of good and evil. They were well aware that by doing so Lucifer would oppose their will and tempt Adam and Eve. The result is the fall of mankind from perfection and a seperation of mankind from the literal presence of God. Man alone is not capable of perfection without intercession. Jesus Christ volunteered to provide the required intercession and purchased the rights to our imperfection with his atoning sacrifice. In doing so he answered the demands of justice and extended sufficient grace & mercy to redeem and perfect all mankind. His atonement, grace and mercy are gifts to all who will accept them through obedience to the principles & ordinances of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
