Hi I'm Archie

I grew up in Illinois. Moved to Arizona for College. I joined the Church when I was 26 years old.

About Me

I enjoy bowling, golf, science fiction, reading the scriptures and spending time with my wife and four children. I have degrees in Sociology and computer science. As a family, we enjoy vacation places like Disneyland and lake Powell. We also enjoy playing family games like uno, nertz, and games on our Wii.

Why I am a Mormon

I was visiting a members home and I noticed a feeling that I had while I was there. They were like a typical family that I had met before but there was something different there. A calm and peaceful feeling that I really enjoyed. I asked what was different about their house. They said I was feeling the Spirit and I was offered a Book of Mormon to read, but at that point in my life, I did not enjoy books. I was then offered the Book of Mormon on cassette tapes because I traveled a lot out of state and listened to the radio quite a bit. The next time I went out of state, I popped in a cassette and started to listen. As I listened, I heard scripture that sounded just like the Bible. I remembered that I was told that if I wanted to know if it was true, that I should pray God and ask Him if it was true. As I did, I felt the overwhelming power of God's Spirit and knew that the Book of Mormon was the word of God.

How I live my faith

I participate in my Church in several ways. I pray and read from the scriptures daily. I visit other members of my Church and we talk about Gospel principles. On occasions, I get to teach other members about Gospel principles that I have learned over the years.
