Hi I'm Karen

I love to read, run, eat, craft, travel and be with my family and friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a certified athletic trainer, but currently at home managing my busy household of a husband, 4 kids and 2 dogs. With 2 boys and 2 girls, I spend most of my time playing taxi driver, chef, and school volunteer! When I can, I enjoy reading all kinds of books, going to lunch with friends, running and biking to work off those lunches, crafting, cooking and Holiday traditions! As a family, we like to do things outdoors. We are trying to see as may national parks as we can and enjoy the diverse beauty of the world.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was in high school, one of my teachers said that I must live a "charmed life" because I was always happy. I don't know about the charmed life, but I do know why I'm happy. Being a Mormon and living the gospel of Jesus Christ makes me happy. I know that real happiness, soul satisfying happiness, comes from being in harmony with what my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have taught. Life is not always roses, and some days are definitely harder than others, but I know that having faith in my Savior, and trying my best to do what's right makes all the difference. The gospel of Jesus Christ, and the doctrines taught by the Mormon church give me a strong foundation to live my life by answering the big questions- Who am I?, Why am I here?, and Where am I going? Knowing the answers, and being in a church with others who believe as I believe and know what I know, that makes me happy and well, I guess that is a charmed life.

How I live my faith

Living my faith involves big and little things. Being Mormon is not just about sunday worship. I live my faith by praying, reading from the scriptures, trying to treat others with kindness, and trying to follow my Savior everyday. Knowing I am a child of God also effects how I raise and teach my children. We pray together, read together and try to do our best to do what's right and serve those around us I also work with the teenagers in the chuch, teaching lessons on Sunday and helping the girls plan and have weekly activities together. One of my favorite things is going to Girl's Camp every summer with the girls age 12-18. It is a fantastic opportunity to be together in nature and feel closer to God, and each other as daughters of God.
