Hi I'm Karen

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of 2 children of my own and various drop in and foster children along the way. I like to crochet, knit, cook from the garden and spend time with my children and grandchildren. I have 7 grandchildren and they are the lights in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon since I was 8 years old. I was raised in the church, but didn't really gain a strong testimony until I became an adult. Being a Mormon gives me many opportunities to serve and help others. There is a security to me in belonging to an organization that teaches of Christ and helps and serves others. I know that this is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I am at peace with myself and with my life because of my beliefs. Being a Mormon, I know that I belong to a group of people who not only believe in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints but we also live by the principles that it teaches. I love being a member of Jesus Christ's church.

How I live my faith

I have recently been asked to be the president over the childen in our ward. There are about 35 children and they are a very busy and diverse group. I love working with them each week. I also get to play the piano for the Spanish Group in the ward. I enjoy serving in the church. I have had many opportunities to serve others and it is what I really enjoy. Through the churches various programs I have been able to take care of children who have had no where else to go and having them in my home has helped me become a much better person and it has helped me more than them. The Lord has blessed me with the ability to sing and to play the piano and I have had many opportunities to share my talents with others.

What is faith?

Karen
Faith to me is more than just saying I believe. I is really believing in th Savior and his promises. As a 2 time survivor of cancer and various other illnesses I have come to have a great deal of faith in Jesus Christ and his atoning sacrifice. He has walked with me through all of my struggles as well as in times of happiness and success. I know that he is my friend and will never let me down. Even when I am discouraged and turn from Him, He is always there. I am glad for a personal relationship with the Savior and to kow of his goodness and mercy. He has loved me always.
